Sell yourself!

One of our favourite things to do at Royall is help our candidates sell themselves as the incredible people they are. No application crosses our desk without our added value, if we think you could be doing more to sell yourself, we’ll tell you!

Selling your talents effectively requires a combination of self-awareness, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

Here are some tips on how to best sell your talents:

1. Identify your strengths

Take time to understand your skills, strengths, and unique qualities. This will help you to communicate your talents effectively and show how you can add value to potential employers or clients. Make it clear how you stand out from the competition..

2. Create a portfolio

Gather examples of your work and create a portfolio that showcases your skills and talents. This can include samples of your writing, design work, or any other relevant projects. It sounds obvious but the more creative you can be in communicating your experience, the better.

3. Network

Build relationships with people in your industry or field. Attend conferences, join online groups, and connect with others on social media. This can help you to find opportunities to showcase your talents and connect with potential clients or employers. It shows you understand the bigger industry picture too.

4. Be confident

When selling your talents, it's important to have confidence in yourself and your abilities. Believe in what you have to offer and communicate this to others with enthusiasm and positivity. Bring your whole self to the table - be you!

5. Communicate clearly

When speaking to potential clients or employers, be clear and concise in your communication. Focus on how your talents can benefit them and their organisation, and be prepared to answer any questions they may have.

6. Practice your pitch

Develop a short elevator pitch that summarises your talents and what you can offer. Practice this pitch until it feels natural and confident. Be familiar with what it says on your CV!

7. Be adaptable

Be willing to adapt your talents to different situations and opportunities. This can help you to be more versatile and attractive to potential clients or employers.

By following these tips, you can effectively sell your talents and showcase what you have to offer to the world!
