It’s been a phenomenal year for the Events and Communications sector and we have all learnt that employees stay where they are when they are paid well, are mentored, challenged, promoted, involved, appreciated, valued, on a mission, empowered and trusted.

We are often asked our top tips for recruiting and with another storming year predicted for growth and inevitable demand on talent we share these with you here:

Senior Event Manager – Immediately Available!

£35,000 – London

A brilliant agency candidate with 5 years consistent experience with her last employer who she joined as an Event Manager and was quickly promoted to Head of Events. With very broad experience, having come from a small agency environment, her strengths lie in Account Management and Project Management. She currently manages 7 key accounts with 3 or 4 sub accounts and is responsible for ensuring they are profitable and increasing the spend within those accounts. The accounts she manages range from £10,000 GP to £170,000 GP annually. Core skills include Account Management, full cycle Project Management, People Management and Business Development. Her project management experience is excellent, she is involved in winning business, pitching to clients, working through the brief and negotiating with suppliers, then planning the event with regards to logistics, venue, travel, accommodation and then being on site on the day of the event and any post event reconciliations. She manages event budgets up to £400,000 and has worked with a variety of clients including retail, financial services and media.

Senior Production Manager

£48,000 – Greater London

This Technical production star has been working for one of the UK’s top event production agencies for the last 7 years where he has progressed to Senior Production Manager. He currently manages a team of 4 Production Managers and works closely with the creative and account team in order to deliver the right proposal to clients. He has worked on events with budgets of £1 million and has experience of working on exhibition build, festivals, stand builds and several experiential campaigns. An exceptional candidate with the ability to transport the idea into a reality, fully realising his clients briefs with strong client facing and communication abilities.

Senior Account Manager

£50,000 – London

A natural Account Manager with experience that boasts a huge amount of campaign management and internal communications alongside brand activation and experiential work. He is able to demonstrate impressive growth in his current accounts and is able to talk confidently about how he develops this and wins new business from his clients. He has experience of managing campaign budgets of up to £300,000 with account values in the past of over £1 million. Sector experience includes automotive, retail, pharmaceutical, financial services and FMCG.

A really impressive candidate with strong agency experience who is looking to join an agency where he can really add value with potential in the future for him to progress into an AD role.

Strategic Director

£80,000+ – West Midlands

An exceptionally well connected senior level candidate with an impressive network. A natural business developer with the ability to up-sell and grow accounts and bring in new business without even setting out with this intention!

Natural communication skills enable him to nurture his clients, really get under a brief and pull together impressive proposals. Having built, managed and then successfully sold his own business for a £multimillion profit he has proven himself to be an exceptional business manager with budget, client and people management skills. His client experience is multi sector and he is incredibly well respected by clients and peers alike.

This candidate isn’t necessarily looking for the kudos of a board level role, intellectual stimulation is his driver and to remain connected to the industry he loves. Financial reward is not this candidate’s motivation, rather the opportunity to do what he loves and that is direct all things technical and maintain a client facing strategic focus.

Account Director

£60,000 – London

An experienced Account Director with in excess of 10 years UK and International industry experience. Until recently he was based in Singapore as a Head of Operations delivering large scale events on a global basis. His expertise and real passions lie in senior account management but also has strategic involvement in the events themselves. He has broad ranging experience including leading new business development, senior operational delivery, client management and the associated responsibilities such as budget planning and management in excess of £1 million, managing a team, including a remote operation.

In his last role he had responsibility for leading a global financial account which he grew under his leadership in excess of 50%.

Event / Account Manager

£35,000 – London

For the last 3 years this candidate has worked on a variety of events, from small scale meetings through to large scale events such as a Global Conference in Boston and the Dubai World Cup.

Budget wise she has worked on events up to £2million in value, and has thoroughly enjoyed the complexity and demands of the events she has worked on and the client relationships she has managed.

Her current working environment is fast paced with her department managing up to 300 events per year, and working in a team with responsibility for junior members, she has had a real opportunity to develop her skills and work with a large variety of clients.

Her most recent role has been a combined Account Manager/Project Manager position, and whilst she widened her experience, she is keen to focus on an Account Manager role in the future.

She has a naturally collaborative nature and works closely with in house digital and creative teams and has been actively involved in the end to end of the event cycle, so has pitched, analysed results of campaigns and routinely works with suppliers.

She is polished and has impressive communication skills, in addition to having an intuitive approach with the client she works with, she is new to the market and looking for a new opportunity within an established agency.

Senior Event Producer

£55,000 – Wiltshire/London

An articulate, impressive Senior Producer with enormous energy who has worked on broad based projects including gala dinners exhibitions, integrated TV campaigns, international conferences and press launches, working with B2B and B2C clients.

A naturally creative Producer, she has worked with a variety of clients crossing a number of sectors.

Examples of her client relationships include Santander, McLaren, Bacardi and Sony, where she has worked on pressing projects with budgets up to £1million and with delegate numbers up to and including 1500 heads.

With a recent background in freelancing on high profile projects, she is a versatile and professional candidate who has delivered projects and worked with suppliers, managing teams of varying size and scale. She is looking to secure a permanent opportunity with a creative and progressive agency.

Senior Project/Account Director

£48,000 – South West London / Berkshire

A highly driven events professional who heads up the professional conference division for an international meetings and congress agency where she manages a team of 12, including Project Directors and Project Managers.

Her role involves running multiple projects including large scale conferences of up to 5,000 delegates at a time, with budgets up to 4 million euros. The events are international, with recent events taking place in the Far East and Australasia and cross sector in nature. They include pharma, IT and Financial.

She enjoys the strategic elements of her role, working with senior stakeholders and developing long term client relationships, in addition to generating new business via existing relationships and is also adept at working with key colleagues across digital, creative, production and marketing teams in order to fulfill the objectives required by the projects she leads.

A highly skilled, professional candidate, who displays warmth and humour, and clearly enjoys being part of a team.

Event Manager

£32,000 – Bedfordshire

An engaging and confident Project Manager, who has recently worked as an Event Manager where she was responsible for taking client briefs, working closely with colleagues and clients to create events, through the planning and logistics phase to the live event itself in addition to post event reconciliation.

The nature of the events varied from conferences, team building events through to award dinners with added exposure to incentive travel.

The role involved sourcing venues, working closely with speakers and working to budgets which were typically around the £40k to £60k mark, and with delegate numbers of up to 500. The majority of the events have been domestic with some European venues and she has travelled to many sites to ensure the smooth running of the key events.

A dynamic candidate with a great energy about her, she is now looking to develop her project management skills further.
