M&E Client Executive

Main Objectives:

The M&E Client Executive (CE) is responsible for the servicing, growth, retention and profitability of specifically allocated client or prospect accounts and is the client’s principal point of contact. Specifically, the Account Manager will:

  • Provide strategic guidance around the use of the full range of M&E services.

  • Deliver a consultancy service offering expert knowledge of how best to meet client M&E objectives

  • Closely collaborate with the service delivery/ops teams to ensure the highest client service standards are provided and maintained

  • Identify potential for new business opportunities and account growth (upsell) and develop strategic account plans in partnership with global teams for new services and markets (expand the account)

  • Ensure agreed profit margins for each allocated client are achieved and contribute towards global sales and margin targets

  • Collaborate proactively with BT CE’s where applicable to develop the opportunity plans within the respective BT industry vertical (Cross Sell)

  • Be an ambassador for the brand able to enhance and uphold our brand reputation in the industry

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all key account contacts, demonstrate a thorough understanding of the client business and corporate objectives, and influence client thinking in a way that benefits the company.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all internal colleagues and the broader business, and be a mentor to account teams and the wider business to promote and deliver the M&E value proposition

  • Ownership of client management including any required contracts, Statement of Work (SOW), implementation plan, services level agreement, and all supporting strategies and service deliverables for all allocated clients, working with internal colleagues and departments where required

  • Ownership of scheduled M&E programme review meetings for allocated clients to include development and presentation of performance results against set objectives and/or targets, spend and savings reports, programme trends, benchmarking data, strategy progress and improvement targets

  • Create contact reports for all client calls and meetings and record all new business opportunities in Oracle CRM

  • Design, develop and implement initiatives supporting client specific strategic meetings management programmes working closely with client stakeholders, SMM COE & consulting teams where necessary

  • Design, develop and implement initiatives and communication strategies supporting client stakeholder management/change management to drive increased adoption of Meetings & Events services and agreed client strategies

  • Collaborate with clients and internal colleagues to develop and administer short and long term account plans and other key strategies to support client programme development and account growth

  • Collaborate with operations teams including operations managers, project managers, event managers, meeting planners and group travel planners to ensure that new programmes or projects are briefed in correctly and are delivered to the highest service standards

  • Build and maintain effective strategic supplier relationships as required for all allocated client accounts

  • Ensure contingency plans are created and in place to effectively manage crisis situations and support business continuity related to all allocated client accounts

  • Ensure that quality processes and tools are incorporated into all daily activities to drive process efficiencies and maintain the highest client service standards

  • Monitor alignment between forecast and actual client business based on original assumptions around spend volumes, margins, staff resourcing and other financial metrics agreed for each allocated client


  • Significant experience of working in a similar M&E role within a comparable agency managing major global corporate accounts or within a major global corporate client M&E team

  • Demonstrable understanding of the M&E industry and knowledge of the specific service areas of Meetings & Events including group travel, venue finding, managed meetings programmes and live events management

  • Proven track record in managing client expectations and delivering sales growth and profitability

  • A deep understanding of strategic meetings management concept is preferred

  • Strategic and commercial acumen with ability to manage complex programmes with extensive annual volumes and budgets and an ability to use business intelligence to drive innovation

  • Adept at managing key client and internal relationships
