The role of Finance Manager would suit a positive, hardworking person to prepare accounts, monitor the day to day financial operations and other financial duties as outlined below. You will be used to using Software Sage line 50 and ideally someone from an event agency background.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager

  • Prepare accounts to Trial Balance

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company

  • Perform routine checks to maintain data accuracy

  • Work with the FC to create monthly reports to set deadlines

  • Prepare month end journals

  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation

  • Immediately notify the FC/Directors of any discrepancies

  • File VAT returns

  • Manage multi-currency bank reconciliations

  • Prepare supplier payment runs and immediately action urgent requests

Further responsibilities include:

  • Identify areas for potential improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and cost reduction

  • Review source documents and ensure compliance with HMRC regulation

  • Reviewing Directors expenses

  • Adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures

  • Provide assistance to the team where needed

  • Review monthly overhead budgets and investigate variances

  • Attend meetings with the Event team to gain an understanding of workflow

  • Produce reports as requested by the FC

  • An understanding of data privacy standards

  • Familiarity with business principles and practices

  • Work collaboratively across departments and UK / US offices

  • Following company processes and procedures

  • Work closely with and support FC to progress and in turn create opportunity for self-progression

  • Mentor team to enable progression

Skills and Expertise:

  • Software Sage line 50 (essential)

  • Experience working within an events agency (preferred)

  • Experience using Procim software would be a huge bonus

  • Proficient mathematical skills

  • Computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets and calculation software

  • Self-Driven, proactive and flexible

  • Team player

  • Excellent customer service

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Enthusiastic and reliable
